Recently my friend Stefano started an initiative to ask the question:

PC, internet, social media, smart phones.
What could the “next-big-thing” be?

I gave a long thought to it, and my view concluded that the “next-big-thing” will not be a device. What I believe will be the “next-big-thing” is a global network system of super-infrastructures that will provide a always-on access to the internet and cloud services regardless of where you are in the world, at any time of the day.
